Meet Prof. Mark!

Profile

When I saw Roger Rabbit at age 18, I exclaimed, "Animation! That's what I wanna do for a living!"

I write, storyboard, perform most of the voices, and draw animation and hand-rendered backgrounds for my 2D cartoons, which are produced mostly with Flash; however, since I took a Stop Motion class at SCAD, I've added clay animation to my repertoire.

Experience

I started doing professional voiceovers at age 17, when I worked at a Country Radio station first as a DJ, and then writing and performing commercials. I've been running MarkToonery.com (which began as MarkToons Video Animation in 1992) for over 20 years. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design from Auburn University Montgomery, and a Master's in Information Design and Communication from Kennesaw University (formerly SPSU). I've worked as a Computer Graphics Operator for Alabama Public Television and WNCF ABC-32 Montgomery, where I was later promoted to Creative Services Director. Currently I teach Animation Principles at Art Institute Atlanta.
